Usually, novice users have a hard time looking up their network settings or certain details, like their MAC address. In their defense, Windows does not make it very easy to find this kind of information in the first place. You can not find any icons or options labeled "see your IP address here" and you can not find it without navigating through a good number of menus. This issue is the main focus of Network Info. It provides you with essential information about all your network adapters. It displays it on a compact interface, so you can reach it instantly.

The application is free and it takes only a few seconds to install it on any Windows operating system, from Win 98 to Win 7. The setup file, as well as the installed software, takes up very little disk space and the impact on your computer's performance is barely noticeable.

As mentioned before, Network Info's interface is very small. It consists of multiple text boxes, where you will find the name of your installed network adapter, its type and various information, such as your MAC and IP addresses, the Subnet Mask, gateway, DHCP and WINS servers. If you have more network adapters, you may click a button, on the lower edge of the interface, to cycle between them.

You can obtain your Internet IP as well. Just click a button, in the lower region of the window and Network Info will connect to checkip.dyndns.com to retrieve this information. The entire process takes about a second, so you will not be kept waiting. Apart from a few basic settings, there is nothing else to interact with.

It must be mentioned that Network Info's interface has a very smooth and modern design. The colors make it comfortable to look at and new windows use a neat effect when they show up. Obviously, these aspects are not as important as the application's core functionality, but it is good to see that Network Info's interface received some attention as well.

Pros

The application displays important information about your installed network adapters. You just need to run it and the information will be revealed instantly. Although Network Info does not include many functions, its interface is very comfortable to use.

Cons

Some users may argue that Network Info is a bit too simple. Network Info makes it easy, for inexperienced users, to retrieve information about their network settings. While the application is running, all relevant details about your network adapters are just one click away.
